Lemon tree with green lemons

Q&A

We bought a lemon tree at a local nursery, but we have big “green” lemons. When do they turn yellow? Think we may have a mismarked lime tree? - Linda -

The lemons should turn green when they start to ripen. I don’t know when that will be as the process will depend on sun and temperature. Sorry I can’t be more helpful.

Carole is correct you will notice a change of color to the fruit when ripe. They may not turn bright yellow like in the store but the shade of green should lighten. So look for a color change. Another option is to pick and cut one open. If it taste it like lemons, well make lemonade.
