Miniature crepe myrtle

Q&A

I planted some miniature crype myrtle this spring, what’s the chance they will survie winter and can I do anything to help them. - Gerry -

Crape Myrtles are root hardy here, so even if the winter is very cold and the top dies back, the new growth in the spring will produce flowers next year.

I would suggest mulching around the base of the plant for added protection as they are newly planted this year. Make sure the mulch does not touch the bark on the trunks.
