I've avoided spraying fungicides and insecticides during this intense heat, for fear of frying foliage, but I was wondering if I could spray my arborvitaes for bagworms when it's hot and sunny. I've already treated them once, and they're still full of bagworms, which are now about 1/2" long. Should I wait until later in the weekend when the temperatures fall a little? Thanks.

The insecticide should have temperature guidelines on the label. That said, I would not apply chemicals when the temp is above 85 degrees, and not in the sun.
Better to wait until Sunday or Monday, when the temps are supposed to be cooler. Generally, I believe it better to spray in early a.m. or in the evening, when temps are cooler, and the wind is somewhat abated.
