I have a Star Magnolia that is about 5 feet tall. It was planted in April of 2007. I need to move this shrub to a new location. Will this be a difficult job and when is the best time of the year to do the move?

Moving Plants
The best time it move is when fully dormant. That could be either this fall after the leaves drop or next winter before growth starts.
You will need to dig a root ball at least a couple feet in diameter and about a foot across. I would also recommend some pruning when moving to decrease the amount of top growth.
It can be done but will take some work-
