MAKING A CUT
Felco-brand pruners have a big fan base. The Swiss-made clippers are known as long-lasting tools that make precision cuts, all while being easy on your hands.
Pat Lovejoy, past president of the Fort Worth Native Plant Society, keeps two pairs of Felco No. 2 pruners, one by the front yard of her Burleson home and one by the back yard, and both are stored in galvanized metal cans so they stay dry but handy. We found them at various hardware stores for $52 to $62, depending on size.
